English:

I would certainly recommend ‘Once We Were Born’ to the fans of Deep Purple and, to a lesser degree, to the fans of Uriah Heep. I’ve told you before about this recording label that regularly releases 70s style CDs…well, here’s another one. This time around, the quality of the album is even better…

You’ll notice the wonderful organ sound, starting with the very first song. It’s a ‘phenomenon’ to which you can immediately relate! Yes, the 70s are completely in fashion again! Many bands are experimenting with those wildly popular and special sounds of the 70s. Those sounds and moods from that era are shamelessly stolen, but you don’t hear anyone complaining because the better bands are scoring with them. Just look at Wolfmother and Black Mountain, just to name a few.

This group, with the far-fetched name of The Divine Blaze Orchestra, has definitely got a hold of the sound. In terms of composition, it’s all done very well. The songs are catchy and memorable enough to want to be played over and over again! To be fair, I must say that AlexFrisborg’s voice could have been a bit heavier and, apart from the great riffs, there could have been more solos on the album. From here on, the rest gets two thumbs up.
This has become one of my favorite albums (and in such a short time). I’m feeling confident that those people that like music from the 70s will agree with me and will order this album via internet!

Nederlands:
