English:

Get ready to meet the biggest new sensation in rock! With their album “Loon Knee Tunes”, featuring stars like Arthur Guitar, Ernie Orme and Cosmo Toons, supergroup SPLIT KNEE LOONS have released a masterpiece, which will go down in history alongside the major classics by bands like DEEP PURPLE, LED ZEPPELIN, QUEEN, THE WHO, and others…

I’m kidding, of course… So are the SPLIT KNEE LOONS, by the way. In fact, this isn’t really a band and the album isn’t new at all. The SPLIT KNEE LOONS surfaced during the recording sessions for the GILLAN album “Mr Universe” in the late seventies, with some of the band members just joking around and recording their follies. The SPLIT KNEE LOONS started leading a life of their own and resurfaced many times.
Don’t expect anything remotely resembling great rock music. This is just John McCoy, Bernie Tormé, Colin Towns and others joking around and playing some… how should I call them… odd ‘songs’. Titles like ‘Shaving Cream’, ‘She Was A Real Egg Timer’ and ‘Ooh, You Make Me Dork’ sort of give away the atmosphere created here. ‘Mutually Insured Third Party Fire And Theft’ is their take on the GILLAN hit ‘Mutually Assured Destruction’, there’s a wacky cover of Del Shannon’s ‘Runaway’ and a hilarious try on doing operetta. Nearly every music genre comes along... in one way or another.
In between the music, there are some monologues and dialogues in which the band members discuss some thought-provoking topics like the height of the Japanese and the length of Cosmo’s trouser bottoms.

If you like absurd humor, you might like this. Just a bit of fun. Big fun!

Nederlands:
